Elgin Chrysler Major Midgets – Richmond Hill Early Bird Tournament Finalist

The Elgin Chrysler Major Midgets played their first game as a new team at the Richmond Hill Early Bird Tournament on Friday September 18^th, against South Porcupine. The first game proved to be an adjustment period as the 15, 16 and 17 year old players began to jell as a new team. Although the final score of 5-3 was in S. Porcupine’s favor, the team remained focused on the final target. Game 2 vs. North York had a decidedly different outcome with a final score of 6-1 St. Thomas and game 3 added to their confidence with a win of 3-1 over host Richmond Hill. After winning the ¼ final game 3-2 over Uxbridge… the players set their sites on the semi final vs. Ajax. After 3 strong periods, St. Thomas proved they had what it takes to move on with a win of 2-1. The weekend was 3 days of hard hitting, fast skating action packed hockey, and heading into the final game the boys could taste the gold… sadly after a nail biting 3^rd period seeing St. Thomas come back after trailing 6-2, the final score of 6-5 for Cooksville was a hard pill to swallow! As the weekend came to an end, it became clear that the St. Thomas Elgin Chrysler Major Midgets are going to be a team to watch this season! Go Stars Go!
