Twas two games before Christmas, when all through the rink

ATOM AE STARS played with determination to win and play to the brink.
With sticks all in hand on Saturday’s game 1,the boys beat the Mooretown Storm 5-3 and said we won.
Josh Levesque and Caden Beshara were nestled all snug in the penalty box,
While visions of a penalty kill had Sam Graham and Josh Allen playing smart as a fox.
And Carson Nurse on left and Noah Allen on right,
Had just settled the play for a long period on the white.
When out on the wing there arose such a clatter,
Noah Dos Santos, Josh Hare, Devin Robison-Sareh sprang from the boards to see what was the matter.
Away to the net they flew like a flash,
Tore apart the goalie and Noah had a hat trick in a dash.
Behind their goalie the red light on the ice below
Gave Tysen Hunter 2 more goals to add to the show.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But Chris Wood making game winning saves with a hot glove that Mooretown had to fear.
With a little old coach, with vocals louder than KISS,
I knew in a moment it must be Coach Chris.
More rapid than STARS his forwards they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
"Now Cameron Watson, on David Gauthier and now Ryan Farrell!
Let your shots fly like a bullet from a barrel!
To the end of the ice! To the top of the goal!
They all played with heart and a whole lot of soul.
As Sunday’s Game 2 played against the Lucan Irish,
It was a hard fought game, but the team came out with their wish.
So up to the scoreboard the eyes of the spectators flew,
With the score being 5-1 as the third period whistle blew.
As the first period began, I saw in the goal
Stick saving, fast glove hand; Matt Beckwith covering the five hole.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the wing Josh Hare and Caden Beshara came with a bound.
Noah Dos Santos and Tysen Hunter were passing back and forth, headed straight for the net,
It’s going to be a goal, I had to bet.
A bundle of shots they had fired on their sticks,
And they scored more as Lucan’s goalie fell like a ton of bricks.
Passes from Devin Robison-Sareh to David Gauthier who scored a goal to be so merry!
And it was another for Cameron Watson to bury!
As the defense from Carson Nurse and Sam Graham kept the puck from crossing the blue,
It was Ryan Farrell passing to Noah Dos Santos to score a few.
The twins Josh and Noah Allen held tight on the last power play,
And with that the game was over – hurray.
THE ATOM AE STARS now are 13-2-1 on the season,
With 88 goals for and 29 against; team play is the reason!
The ATOM AE STARS sprang to their goalie; Matt Beckwith as the ref blew his whistle,
And away they all flew down the ice like a missile.
But I heard them exclaim, ‘ere they skated out of sight,
"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"
