The St Thomas Jr Stars Tyke hockey team travelled to Peterborough this past weekend to participate in the annual Under the Lock tournament played during Hockey Day in Peterborough. The tournament is played solely on outdoor hockey rinks formed on the Trent Canal at the base of the Lift Locks.

Bantam A ('97) - Busy Weekend Sets the Stage For O.M.H.A. Playdowns

The Bantam Jr. Stars played three games in three nights against two quality AA opponents this past weekend in preparation for their upcoming O.M.H.A. Preliminary Round Tournament held at the Timken Centre in St. Thomas from February 3-5, 2012. Although the scores were not particularly impressive, the Stars did give their fans reason to be at least somewhat optimistic about their chances next weekend against some stiff competition that includes Amherstburgh and the top ranked Riverside Rangers.

Midget A ('94-'96) - International Silver Stick Finalist

The St. Thomas Major Midget Jr. Stars traveled to Sarnia last weekend to compete in the International Silver Stick tournament. The Jr Stars got off to a slow start, losing the 1st game of the tournament with a score of 2-1. The lone St. Thomas goal was scored by Tyler Beauleau, assisted by Cody Taggart. After losing the first game, St. Thomas knew they had to come out firing on Saturday and pray for a little help to have any chance of playing on Sunday and that is exactly what they did!

The Atom AE Stars played the first two games of our round robin preliminary round this weekend. There were highs and lows, the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat, from the outhouse to the penthouse, a tale of two cities, need I go on?

Our Stars finished off the regular season Tuesday night in Mooretown with a hard fought, 1-0 loss to the storm. It was a fairly even game, but an unlucky goal off of a skate proved to be the difference in this one.

Bantam A ('97) - Stars Deserve Better in Kitchener

The St. Thomas Major Bantam Jr. Stars relished the return of Zach Smith and Dylan Newman to the lineup on Tuesday night at the Activa Sportsplex in Kitchener. The Jr. Stars played perhaps their smartest and most complete game of the season but were only able to come away with a 2-2 tie. A wise sage named Folksy summed up the effort during the post-game interviews, "It was a real solid team effort. We failed to capitalize on our chances and they got a couple of lucky bounces."
